The dance team has scheduled extra practices during Winter Break in order to prepare for its first time ever attending nationals. Few opportunities for practice remain before the Purrfections compete against the best dance teams in the nation.

“Nationals is a dance competition that is being held at Disney (ESPN Wide World of Sports) in late January,” coach April Shaw said. “This will be our first time attending because in past years we have never been interested. But this year the dancers really wanted to do it.”

Despite having only three practices left in the semester that do not include dancing at soccer and basketball games, the team is feeling ready for their big competition.

“I am really excited and happy to be going to nationals this year because it is my senior year,” Megan Ward said. “We are all pretty nervous about it, but we feel more than ready to go and do good.”
