Dance Mania takes on Worlds

Entering three of their teams, the Dance Mania All-Stars attended the Worlds 2012 competition during the weekend at Epcot where they were competing in the senior and open jazz division, and in senior pom. This year, about 50 countries attended, and more than 300 teams entered in the competition.

“I’m very excited about going. Obviously I’m nervous about performing, but that’s normal for a competition this big.” junior Stephanie Shaw said. “This is what we work for all year, I’m so ready for this.”

Stephanie is a member of the senior jazz and pom teams, along with West Shore senior Lauren Sadowski.

“I have been looking forward to Worlds all week. All of our hard work is going to pay off. I can’t wait to get out there and perform,” Sadowski said.

Last year, Dance Mania placed third in senior jazz and fifth in senior pom.

“Last year the Dance Mania did really well. Hopefully this year we can do even better,” Shaw said.
Dance Mania All-Stars is a year-round competitive dance program comprised of Florida students ages 3 to college. The program was established in 1999 and it holds more than 350 championship titles. In 2010, its senior pom team were world champions.
