Space Coast Crew’s first regatta took place last weekend in Jacksonville against teams from throughout the state.
“This was a great start our season,” Varsity Coach Heather Rogers said. “We’ve discovered more what works and what doesn’t. It gives a good stepping stone.”
The rowers felt confident about the team’s overall performance at this regatta, regardless of whether their boats won or lost.
“We had a couple gold medals come from our team, one coming from my race, and that feels really good,” said Eran del Castillo, varsity rower on the womens’ team. “The entire team is proud themselves, even if they didn’t win because how you feel about a race is based on your performance during the race, not the outcome.”
