On Friday, the West Shore Wildcats took on the John Carroll Golden Rams at John Carroll. The game was a tough one for the cats as their Junior Center Jake Diamond was unable to play due to an injury. Senior Center Sam Lack took over Diamond’s position for the night and was the leading scorer with a total of 8 points.
“We didn’t execute offensively enough,” Lack said.
The ‘Cats only scored a total of 40 points, while the Rams had a total of 60. Lack blames the loss on the inability to out-rebound the Rams and play well defensively.
“We struggled to hold off their run in the second half and it’s tough to hold them off from rebounding,” Lack said. “We need to rebound better and finish games when they’re close.”
The Wildcats’ record worsens to 2-8 as they are set to play Covenant Christian next Friday at 7:00PM in the gym for the first annual Jim Melia Holiday Tournament.
