Boys’ tennis players eye next year

As the tennis season came to an end, many of the players started to prepare for next year.

“My goal is to be in the top 5 next year. I want to work on increasing my consistency of my ground strokes and hopefully not injuring myself,” freshman Kishen Mitra said. “I plan on practicing off season like during the summer and making sure I stay healthy.”

This year, Mitra was out with a knee injury for the middle portion of the season.

“I plan to prepare for next year by practicing by myself and working on fundamentals like footwork,” eighth-grader Hunter S. said. “I am glad this season is over because I do not have to go to practice anymore.”

The players have months to practice and improve as tryouts have been scheduled to be held after Winter Break of the 2017-2018 school year.
