Boys’ lacrosse eyes season-opener

After nearly four months of lacrosse conditioning, the boys’ team is preparing to start the season. The team opens with a preseason tournament at Cocoa Beach on Feb. 18 followed by a regular season-opener home game against Melbourne Central Catholic on Feb. 25.

“We are getting super hyped for our first game,” freshman Ryan Canavan said. “We have been practicing really hard and think we are finally ready to at least win some games this season.”

Last year, the team finished with a 2-11 record and was shut out in seven games.

“I believe we will do a little better than last year,” Canavan said. “We have quite a few more people than last year, so I am hoping that we will have some more wins this year. So we’ll see how it goes.”
