Boys’ basketball fall to Edgewood

Led by seniors Ben Mechachonis Jake Dimond, the varsity boys’ basketball team finished off Friday night’s game with a loss against Edgewood Jr./Sr. High School with a score of 55-66.

Sophomore David Thompson noticed two of the key factors that led to their defeat.

“We needed more energy all around as a team,” Thompson said. “We also needed better total effort on both sides of the court.”

Players say they will be practiced so that they won’t make the same mistakes again.

“We obviously needed to make more shots,” sophomore Evan Lanier said. “We also needed to play smarter, and coach addressed that at practice. Let’s just say we probably won’t have that problem again.”

The Wildcats’ next game is at Merritt Island High School on Wednesday. Junior varsity will begin at 5:30 p.m., and varsity will follow at 7 p.m.
