The Lady Wildcats open the district tournament tonight when they host the Cocoa Tigers. Junior Alexa Carlos expects the team will be very successful and looks to contend for the district championship.

“Today we’re trying to focus on MCC, who we will most likely face in the next round tomorrow,” Carlos said. “We tied them in the regular season but we should have won. Tomorrow is the real test before the district championship. Cocoa tonight is a decent team but we will probably overpower them.”

The game is at West Shore tonight, at 6 p.m. The Lady ‘Cats lost the district semifinal last season to the Cocoa Beach Minutemen.
