Girls’ soccer rallies to tie Rockledge

Down 2-1 with three minutes left in the game, freshman Ashley Pekmezian scored the second goal as the girls’ soccer team rallied back to tie Rockledge High School on Monday. The team is now 4-1-1.

Assistant Coach Chuck Keener said the girls out-possessed Rockledge and really should have won, but the he ultimately was satisfied with the results.

“When you come from behind to tie, it’s a good day,” Keener said.

Sophomore Sarah Brusca was more optimistic about the tie.

“We stole their win!” she said.

Amanda Farthing was also relieved about the result.

“We had a really good comeback,” the junior said. “I was thrilled.”
