Wristband sale to benefit coach

The Sophomore Class is selling “Cats for Coach” wristbands to raise money for cross-country Coach Jason Whitworth, who recently was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig disease. All of the money raised will be donated towards the school’s effort to supply him and his family with a special getaway.

“I think this is a really great idea because everyone loves Mr. Whitworth and we want to help him in any way we can,” eighth-grade student Hannah Brusca said.

The blue elastic wristbands stamped with Whitworth’s favorite “Never Give Up” slogan, currently are on sale for $5 during lunch in the school cafeteria.

“We all hope that this fundraiser raises a ton of money because Coach Whitworth deserves a [good] time,” sophomore Brady Kelsey said.
