Pit orchestra prepares for ‘Fiddler’

Band members have been preparing to play in the pit orchestra for this week’s performances of “Fiddler on the Roof” in the West Shore auditorium.

“It is rewarding to know I am part of the West Shore play,”  junior Emma Kent said. “It is amazing to see the West Shore community come together and put on an amazing production.”

The band members have been practicing after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the past month and a half to learn all the music. In addition,  pit members participated in a four-hour rehearsal last Saturday and tech week this week.

“We have had a really fun time practicing together,” junior Marc Spurlock, the band’s equipment manager said. “We have talented players and will put on a great show.”
Performances of the play will be held Thursday and Friday night, Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon. Tickets are $11 and are on sale at showtixforyou.com.
