SGA postpones vote for Homecoming venue

The Student Government Association’s vote to select the venue for the 2011 Homecoming dance was postponed and possibly cancelled because of the 39 SGA members who attended Monday’s meeting, none had information to present regarding possible sites.

“It’s not right,” said sophomore Stephanie Delgado, an SGA member. “We just didn’t put the effort in.”
Because of the lack of student-generated research, SGA sponsor Heidi Heath, SGA made the executive decision to choose from among the Eau Gallie Civic Center, the Melbourne Civic Center and the King Center.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I’m hoping to get a vote,” Heath said after the meeting.

“They’re all good places so I don’t really mind,” sophomore SGA member Virginia Compton said. “Homecoming isn’t about the venue. It’s about the people and the memories made.”
