Pit orchestra prepares for upcoming play

A group of students from both band and orchestra have started working on the music for the upcoming spring musical “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” The play will be performed in the school auditorium March 24-25 at 7 p.m. The pit orchestra allows more people to be a part of the play.

“The pit orchestra is a great way for students to participate in the play, who might not want to be on stage,” junior Jason Nemeroff said . “I’ve always enjoyed being able to play in the pit orchestra.”

The play is about a girl from a small town who moves to New York city looking to marry a rich man although her plans change when she meets some unpleasant people in the city.

“The music is difficult, and it will be a challenge to perform,” junior Avery East said. “I think we are going to be able to learn it in time for the play.”
