Mu Alpha Theta competitions begin

The first Mu Alpha Theta sponsored math competition for this year took place Oct. 17 during CAP period.  Competitions will continue to take place during every CAP period and will alternate between Florida Math League and Mandelbrot tests. The competitions consist of a written test with six questions, which students have 30 minutes to complete. Students not in the Mu Alpha Theta club are able to get passes from their math teachers that permit them to miss their clubs and take the tests in Room 4-203.

“All students at West Shore are allowed to participate,” said Debra Jerdon, the sponsor of Mu Alpha Theta.

Students will receive their tests results from their math teachers. Top scores will be posted in most math classrooms after the competition.
