Middle-school girls edge Edgewood 15-14

With the score tied 14-14 and about eight seconds left, eighth-grader Savannah H. made one of her two free throws to lead the girls’ middle-school basketball team to a 15-14 victory against Edgewood.

Coach Derrick Hamilton said the game was tough for the girls, especially Savannah who had also gotten two bloody noses.

“The first time I got smacked in the face and the second time I have no clue how it happened,” she said.

Hamilton said this was not one of his team’s better games.

“The highest scorer had 6 points,” Hamilton said.

The next game is at Space Coast today at 6 p.m.
