The girls’ middle school basketball team was undefeated last season, and Head Coach Lauren Fisher said she is hopeful that her revamped team will be equally successful.
“It’s a completely new team, and we’re building from the ground up,” Fisher said. “We’re working mostly on the fundamentals with these girls, but I’m hopeful.”
Fifteen girls made the cut at tryouts Aug. 23.
According to Fisher, the team works well together and has great chemistry.
“The girls get along great,” she said.”We’re all here for the same reason.”
The team opens play Sept. 6 at home against the Space Coast Vipers.
The current middle school roster includes eighth-graders Brittany B., Sonya F., Rebecca C., Gillian F., Tori H., Becky V., Keira T. and Gracie P. Seventh-graders players are Chanel B., Lauren M., Brooke T., Megan M., Helen M., Madi W. and Mary B.
